Lana is passionate about her heritage as a Kiwi Samoan. Growing up in Auckland, she describes herself as part-islander, part-mainlander acknowledging her Samoan father and her mother from Dunedin. The 10th of 11 children, her life has been deeply focused on family and respect; strength and humility. Lana’s career has included banking, human resources and diversity and inclusion. She has worked in New Zealand, Australia and Samoa in the banking and private health sectors.
Outside of work, community is central to Lana. She is now in her 10th year of Board work, having this year joined InZone Education Foundation. Now a coach, she is a past netball player, representing Auckland and internationally played for Samoa. Aside from good friends, food and wine, her other obsession is the All Blacks – chances are, if the ABs are playing she’ll be at the game.
